We, at the C&O group, are "Integrated Energy Solutions" providers. Our Vision is to be involved from “Mine Mouth to Microwave”. Since the past decade we have been soaked in all aspects of managing the Fuel Supply Chain for a variety of coal consumers. With operations spread across 4 continents, 20 countries and hundreds of supply and delivery points, we have perfected the art of getting Fuel from one point to the other at the lowest effective cost.
With extensive experience ranging from sourcing of coal, shipping to over 30 ports in India, Pakistan and Africa, managing its land transportation and finally delivering it to our clients doorstep, we have mastered the art of getting the most out of coal and ensuring its optimum efficiency. Along the way we learned the technical aspects of managing productivity at our clients plants; boilers for power producers, kilns for cement manufactures to name a few.
Our technical team has managed to save millions of dollars for large Power Producers by identifying the right coal, using the most optimum supply chain and help them increase yields phenomenally. It is all in a days work for us. After all, that's what we do best.
In the early 1990's considering the enormous and steadily growing demand for energy in India, Mr. Ahmed Buhari & Family envisioned the creation of an 'Integrated Energy Company' that would engage in all Coal Related Energy activities. This included cross border Trading, Mining, Shipping and Power Generation.
This vision led to the formation of various companies such as Coastal Energy, Coal and Oil Company, Coastal Energen, Fossil Maritime, Fossil Logistics, PT Coal & Oil, etc, all making up the DNA for the C&O group.
C&O, a US$ 550 Mn enterprise today, has been keenly pursuing its vision over the past decade in order to get into the various activities in the energy value chain.
Having monitored the Indian energy scenario very closely since the early 90's, with extensive experience gained in managing fuel for major power utilities and coupled with the beginning of an Indian economic boom, Mr. Ahmed Buhari felt it appropriate to launch the process for setting up a power plant in early 2004.
This culminated in the incorporation of Coastal Energen Pvt Ltd (Energen), the Flag Ship Power Generation Company of the Group.
